RECOMMENDATION:
THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WELLAND receives for information the presentation by Kevin Carver, President and CEO , Mario Falvo, Nominating Committee Chair, and Tim Clutterbuck, Chair of Holding Corp., Welland Hydro-Electric Holding Corporation regarding its annual general meeting.

RECOMMENDATION:
THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WELLAND receives for information the presentation by Sue Barnett, Trustee/Chair, District School Board of Niagara regarding an update on Welland school.

RECOMMENDATION:
THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WELLAND receives for information the presentation by Leslie Monger, Executive Director of Community, Community Living Welland Pelham regarding a brief overview of Community Living.

THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WELLAND reestablish the Community Watch Program in our community by replacing some of the faded community watch signage that is out there now across the city and possibly looking at some kind of community stickers for residents; and
THAT the City provides an educational piece to talk about crime prevention; and further
THAT city staff develop a report for Council’s consideration.   Ref. No.  25-78

THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WELLAND form a State of Emergency Committee on an ad hoc basis to better address Welland declared state of emergency on mental health, homelessness and addiction; and
THAT Welland City Council  focus on recruiting individuals with lived experience with mental health, homelessness and addictions and this be reflected in the call for applications; and further
THAT Welland City Council approach the Niagara Region to request that a Niagara Region staff member who works in the homelessness services also sit on the new committee.   Ref. No. 21-30

THAT THE CITY OF WELLAND OF THE CITY OF WELLAND rescinds the report CS-2023-01 of January 17, 2023 seeing what is currently in the works totally contradicts the CPTED report and also the GARDAWORLD SECURITY City of Welland Site Assessments report that we received earlier tonight; and
THAT Welland City Council reallocates the ATF funds that we received to areas brought to council just recently that asked the taxpayer for additional funding to the tune of approximately $677,000 to install pathways that other area residents have been requesting for since the inception of this plan in 2022; and further
THAT the work in the areas that are currently being done be halted immediately, regrated and reseeded so that the affected residents who have cared for these properties some for 48 + yrs can continue to do so seeing how the majority of time our city heavy equipment cannot access due to the wetness of the grounds.   Ref.
